Chicken and Red Cabbage Salad

Chicken and Red Cabbage Salad

Happy Monday!

No, I am not being sarcastic.  It’s true I’ve never been the biggest fan of Mondays.  I’m actually more of a Tuesday person.  But it IS a happy Monday, because I had a really great weekend.

Still not following?  Well, think about it.  When you have a really great weekend – and by really great weekend I mean spending lots of time with friends and possibly indulging in a wee cheat meal or two – Mondays are always going to be there for you.  And by there for you, I mean to whip you into shape.

Mondays are the no-nonsense, power-suit, tight hair-bunned day if there ever was one.  Mondays would be called Helga.  Helga does not accept sloppiness.  You will tell Helga you’re ready to come back to reality and do better this time and continue to improve.

What I Ate on Wednesday + Weekly Workouts 2

What I Ate on Wednesday + Weekly Workouts 2

Well hello there, friends!

Welcome to another episode of what I ACTUALLY ate yesterday, and the workouts I REALLY did!  The post of the week where you get to see me as a human being that isn’t always perfect but does her best and makes it work.  There may not be any sobbing into cameras and back-stabbing going on, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t REALITY!

Of course I don't blame the holiday season.  I still agree with the song lyrics that play on the radio non-stop - no matter how often I hear them - "It's the most wonderful time of the year!"  But because it's the season of a million wonderful events, it's hard not to get caught up in the flurry and fall behind on a few things.

11 Kid-Friendly Recipes

11 Kid-Friendly Recipes

Got any wishes for Christmas this year?
Is it a full-on, legitimate, letter-to-Santa list?  Or is there just ONE thing you really want and everthing else may as well be pencil-shavings in comparison?
Things I've wished for, for Christmases past include:  Polly Pockets, American Girls Dolls, an encyclopedia (I was eight and this request prompted my Dad to introduce me to the "Internet" and Brittanica.com), a pony, and an Easy Bake Oven (Got it! Have since graduated to the big kids' oven.)
This year some of the "things" on my list are not actual things.  And I think that's totally acceptable, especially as a grown-up, to have lists of Christmas wants that do not take up more space in your life.  True?
