Easy Thin-Crust Pizza {Low-Carb!}

Easy Thin-Crust Pizza {Low-Carb!}

Conundrum:  How to deal with carb-cravings when you’re trying to stick to a low-carb diet (or just eat less carby junk in general)?

Technically, going to a bakery and inhaling deeply for five minutes contains zero carbs, and is super delightful.  On the downside, cravings often seem to increase after this, and when so near the main concern, this can be problematic.

Distracting oneself with kitten videos is usually less of an issue in the short run.  Still, it doesn’t take long for hunger pangs to come back, which need to be addressed some way or another…

Which brings me to the real solution.  Have pizza.  Low-carb, quicker than delivery, delicious, satisfying pizza, that is.

If you’ve ever ordered takeout or microwaved a frozen meal, you are well acquainted with the meaning of convenience food.  If you haven’t, then I assume you are either very privileged or have been living under a rock in the Sahara desert.

"Viva la Local!"
Numerous signs and banners bearing this message could be seen everywhere.  Look to your left, and you'd see a stand selling locally brewed kombucha in at least four different flavors.  Look to your right, and there are a couple aproned ladies setting out freshly made local/sustainable goat cheese and goat's milk soaps.  People mill about with cups of wine and beer made down the street, sampling grassfed cheddar and stuffing organic pea shoots in canvas totes.
Standing in that field surrounded by artisan food and crafts, I could have been at some kind of hippy convention in Portland, Oregon.  Or I could have been right at home in Tucson, at one of the most characteristic events the city offers.
You're not still trying to guess where I was... right?

Blackened Mahi Mahi Chopped Salad + Pre-Contest Musings

So little time, so much to do.

Thus is the feeling come PEAK WEEK of my bikini preparation!

With my big weekend approaching faster than a HIIT workout on 5 cups of coffee, I am reminded of all the things I had hoped to share with you along the way and all the things I have yet to do.

The latter is, fortunately, the shorter list.  Still, finding time to check everything off the myriad needs of a bikini competitior for show day has been challenging.

Manicure, pedicure, photo shoot, assembling day-of items, packing my day-of bag, spray tan (not to mention tan preparation - yeah, it's a thing), posing practice, final workouts, figuring out the last week diet (SO many opinions out there on dieting/water consumption), figuring out when and where I need to be, getting mentally prepared... and probably several other things I've forgotten and need to do.
