Summertime Grilling Roundup

Summertime Grilling Roundup
Don't forget to get in on the giveaway going on now through 5/25 at 9 am MST!

There’s nothing quite like getting outside to cook and enjoy good food, good friends, and good weather.  Except maybe watching a baby elephant run.  But, come to think of it, that’s nothing like grilling either.  Just that it’s also totally great.

So when the urge strikes you, what do you do?  No, I don’t mean the urge to watch a baby elephant run.  We all know that you go straight to YouTube for that.  When you want to grill – do you immediately call all your friends and fire up the barbie?

The dog ate my homework.  Well, actually, I spilled my oatmeal on it, and then the dog ate the oatmeal off it, so now it’s just ruined.  I mean, it fell on the floor first… See, my oatmeal was just sitting on the corner of my homework, and my homework was attached to my sleeve, so when I went to walk away they both fell on the floor.  Why was it attached to my sleeve?  That’s another story, but I was babysitting the other day…

So maybe the dog ate the homework.  Or maybe it’s just easier to say that than what really happened.  Either way, the homework isn’t here.  It was supposed to be… only it isn’t.

According to the New York Times, a third of people who make New Year’s resolutions have already broken them by this month.  That’s a lot of people who had their dog eat their homework.  Or whatever their particular case is.  And, far from blaming anyone, I can see how it happens.  First of the year or not, it’s nearly impossible to just wake up one day and do everything completely different.

Today, I’m going to take you on a slightly different path.  Hint: It involves carbs.

I know, I know – this is not really *exactly* bikini-competition-preparation food.  BUT I kept the ingredients as clean as could be, even replacing ½ the sugar with Stevia, and these would be totally okay in moderation…

Except when it comes to these… straight out of the oven.  Oi.  I have just a teensy bit of a harder time eating just ONE.  They’re called “fancy” for a reason.

Got any wishes for Christmas this year?
Is it a full-on, legitimate, letter-to-Santa list?  Or is there just ONE thing you really want and everthing else may as well be pencil-shavings in comparison?
Things I've wished for, for Christmases past include:  Polly Pockets, American Girls Dolls, an encyclopedia (I was eight and this request prompted my Dad to introduce me to the "Internet" and Brittanica.com), a pony, and an Easy Bake Oven (Got it! Have since graduated to the big kids' oven.)
This year some of the "things" on my list are not actual things.  And I think that's totally acceptable, especially as a grown-up, to have lists of Christmas wants that do not take up more space in your life.  True?
