Ever get that feeling of being totally owned by your schedule?  Kind of like being tied to the back of a rampaging gorilla that’s really not cool with you being tied to its back? 

Sometimes this feeling occurs to me.  It probably means I need a self-help book on time management. 

Anyway, this is the part where I announce to you the wonderful reason I’ve been so terrible at posting anything consistently for a while…

Ladies and Gentlemen, I am so very pleased to announce that today marks the official date that my very first cookbook is released!

YAY. 

I know I’ve been talking about it a bit, but this is kind of a lifelong dream come true here!  And I can tell you, it’s only the first big thing I’ll do this year.

I have some very exciting news, my friends.

This exciting news does not have to do with football teams on a winning streak, running a first triathlon, or buying a cute new pair of athletic shoes – although I do think those would all be very exciting things!

What it does have to do with is zesty orange waffles, flourless blueberry-rhubarb cakes, pizzas, double chocolate truffles, and pumpkin butter ice cream.  That and 195 other recipes you can make that actually support your healthy lifestyle, and even your hardcore training program!

You do know what I’m talking about, don’t you?  My very first cookbook, due out in just a couple months!  My working on it all summer has been part of the reason you haven’t been getting a ton of new-post updates in your inbox (because, of course, you’ve subscribed!) and it’s what has been keeping me awake at night, with visions of protein-packed sugarplums dancing in my head.

Welcome to my latest book review post!  There’s nothing like being part of a blog tour for getting myself back up and writing again.  With so many recent curves in this little rollercoaster I call life, I have been doing just about everything but writing lately.

Fortunately, I love to read as much as I love to write, and being given the opportunity to review this “how-to guide” on healthy vegan eating, I jumped on the chance to sit down and crack a book.  It’s even possible that doing this review came at the expense of doing my laundry once or twice… but do you think I minded?  Not even a little bit.

Lani Muelrath is a plant-based-living and aerobics professional who has had personal success with staying 100% animal-product free for many years.  In her book, The Plant Based Journey, she addresses the “whys” of overhauling one’s diet into vegan territory, right before digging into the “hows.”

Hi there, friend.  It’s certainly been a little while since I have given you the love and attention you deserve, via recipes, photography, fit-tips, and witticisms, but I’m starting to pull myself back to the blogging world little by little.
