These words from the mythological Oracle of Delphi couldn’t be more apt today.  Know ourselves.  What a concept!  It’s very simple, but totally profound.

We often try to force ourselves into a mold in some way or another.  Think about it:  We’ll often go after many diet plans, fitness regimens, clothing styles, and even behavior patterns that aren’t really… us.

And, while, obviously, we don’t have to be totally out there and non-conformist to be individuals, respecting certain little things about ourselves can make a huge difference in our productivity and progress.

For me, this has meant coming to understand what I need to do to see changes within myself, fitness-wise, while drawing from fundamental knowledge about health and fitness. 

It really has been a lot of trial and error.  And obsessing.  And scrutinizing.  But once you figure out what works for you – and I’m here to help you make that process easier! – you can really live the rest of your life feeling happy and confident about your health choices!  How liberating is that??

{Best-Ever} Lemon Bundt Cake

There's a GIANT DOUGHNUT in my kitchen right now.  

Well, it looks like a giant doughnut, anyway.  Like a giant doughnut that someone has taken a giant bite out of.

Yeah.  Apparently, out of all the wonderful things I could say about this cake... that's the thing I thought of first.  

This lemon bundt cake is a time-honored tradition in my family.  We'd always pick some of our backyard lemon tree's lemons to make the cake to share with friends and family on New Year's Eve.  It was almost as essential to the evening as the ball-drop in NYC.

Let's talk for real right now.

Like, I could totally sit here and be okay with just sharing this yummy salad with you and telling you how you should get into it.  I mean... you SHOULD try it.  That's why I made it for you, after all.  Well, actually, I made it for me and then realized it was definitely worth sharing... but same difference.

All the things I'm loving right now put in one big bowl.  That is this salad.  Since I made the butternut squash ahead of time, it took me about 5 seconds to put this together.  It also just so happens that all these ingredients are really helpful with reducing body fat and satisfying hunger!  True facts.  

As great as that is, we can't be done there today.

I want to be up front and real with you.  I think we should talk about about some of the interesting stuff I learned on my recently accomplished "journey" as a first-time bikini competitor.
