My birthday was this Monday, hence it is the beginning of my Birthday Week. It is the week where I am the Queen of the world, and nothing can go wrong, and calories don’t count at all.
Or, at least, it would be if I could have all the wishes those darn birthday candles are supposed to give me! I mean – if those wishes ever worked out, I might even have that pony by now…
But, since the world still works the way it did before my birthday week (guess how old I am!?) I have to concede that healthy eating – and, you know, obeying the laws and all – is still important.
Imagine that if all those wishes did come true, and I decided take full advantage of them: You might see me running down the street with a couple dozen boxes of apple-pie filled doughnuts, (oh, yes, there are such things!) having just stolen them from the nearest bakery, and commanding a passing limo driver to halt in his path so he could drive me around while I stuffed my face with them. I would probably then tell him to drive me to the nearest swimming pool – any swimming pool – where I would flip off the high dive and do laps like a mermaid… without waiting 30 minutes after eating! Ahahaha!!*
Oh yeah, by the way – five. I’m turning five.
Anyway, it seems to me that even being able to get away with breaking all the rules might not be that great… clearly it turns me a little, uh, crazy.
So, yes, it’s definitely a time to celebrate my 5th – er, plus 20 – birthday, but it doesn’t mean I need to spend the week giving myself a 5 pound gift to look forward to, if you follow me.
Which means… THERE CAN ONLY BE ONE SOLUTION.
Healthified birthday treats! *GASP* Er – wait, you knew that was coming, didn’t you? But isn’t that an epic idea? That seriously puts the “have your cake and eat it, too” in the old “have your cake and eat it, too” proverb. Because it will be like having decadent treats… without ruining all the hard work you’ve done the rest of the year getting all ballgown-ready! Or Halloween-costume ready! Or bikini-competition ready! Okay, I don’t really know what you’re preparing for, and it’s completely up to you how you fit delicious things into your diet, but I PROMISE these ones are gonna be wayy easier to work with than your average slice of German Chocolate!
Can you tell I’m stoked? It’s just the bday high… I’ll come down when I wanna.
*Is this the kind of blog-writing style Weird Al is talking about when he says “spastic” in this (fantastic) music video? I think so. Yessss.
